9-1-1: Nashville' Rounds Out Its Cast With Fresh-Faced Stars that Could Rival the OGs

There will be a slew of emergencies coming to Music City when ABC's 9-1-1: Nashville debutsand we now have some new insight on more characters who will be joining the crew: Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey have been cast in the upcoming show, according to Variety. This announcement helps round out the cast of the highly anticipated series, which will be led by Chris O'Donnell.

Plot details about the upcoming series remain hidden in the firehouse. However, Variety reported that Kilgore will play Taylor, a "firefighter and singer." Provost will play "modern-day cowboy and firefighter" Ryan. Feliz will play Roxie, a "former adrenaline junkie and trauma surgeon." McVey, making his onscreen debut, will play Blue, a "haunted bad boy" turned firefighter. The show itself, similar to prior installments of the smash-hit 9-1-1 franchise, will be a "high-octane procedural about our heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour," set in Nashville.

In addition to O'Donnell and today's announced cast 9-1-1: Nashville will also star Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. O'Donnell is no stranger to these types of shows, as he starred on the intense police series NCIS: Los Angeles for over a decade — but it remains to be seen where Music City's adventures will take him. The ABC and 20th Television show was created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani. The trio also executive produce with Raisani serving as showrunner. O'Donnell, Brad Falchuk, and Brad Buecker also executive produce alongside a familiar face: original 9-1-1- star Angela Bassett.

The '9-1-1' Franchise Has Exploded

From its original show that premiered in 2018, the 9-1-1 franchise has become one of the biggest on televsion. The show, which, as with the upcoming Nashville, followed the lives of first responders in Los Angeles, became a cultural phenomenon and was recently renewed for its ninth season. Bassett's portrayal of the tough, no-nonsense LAPD Sargeant Athena Grant also garnered critical acclaim.

The original show did so well that an initial spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, premiered in 2020 and followed first responder Owen Strand, played by Rob Lowe, who must readjust his life and his career after moving to Austin, Texas. The show, like the original, garnered critical acclaim and ran for five seasons, ending earlier this year. But where the inhabitants of Nashville will find themselves when the new show drops is anyone's guess.
