Former Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams claims Alesha Dixon once threw water over him after he joked about her miming.

The pair worked together on the ITV show for 10 years, alongside Amanda Holden, 54, and Simon Cowell, 65, until David's exit in 2022.Proving their friendship is still going strong, Alesha, 46, recently joined David, 53, and his co-star Matt Lucas, 51, on their podcast Making A Scene and reminisced about their memories.

On the topic of her music career, David opened up about about Alesha's feisty reaction to his joke about her singing.

He spilled: "We had an argument once on Britain's Got Talent, but not really an argument, you just poured a glass of water over my head because I made a joke about you miming and you said, 'I never mime'.

"You said you never mime and then you said, 'Unless I was hungover and we were on breakfast television'."

The conversation led to Alesha, who rose to fame in Misteeq before going solo, admitting that she did indeed mime once during a performance on Good Morning Britain.

She explained: "I wasn't in Misteeq at the time, I was a solo artist and we were celebrating the end of a tour.Britain's Got Talent judges

David Walliams left the Britain's Got Talent panel in 2022

"We had a big night out with all the crew, the dancers, and didn't sleep, literally went all night.

"And at 5.30am, my manager comes bursting through the door and goes, 'What are you doing? You're on Good Morning Britain in like two hours'.

"I was like, 'Don't worry about it' and I literally rolled up to Good Morning Britain and I mimed the song."

In a playful dig at his friend, David added: "And you've mimed every time since."

The comedian left the judging panel after he was accused of making derogatory comments about some of the show's contestants.

He later apologised for his actions, telling The Independent: “I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.

"These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.”

He has since been replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli.

Reflecting on working with David on the show, Alesha continued: "I thought the four of us together were magic. I think that the 10 years we did together was special.

"I think that we were the best judging panel on telly, there you go, I said it."

Britain's Got Talent continues Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
