Amanda Holden has been married to husband Chris Hughes for 14 years and in a relationship for 23, but the Heart Radio presenter has been left shocked by something
Amanda Holden has left colleagues shocked with a surprising confession about her husband Chris Hughes.
Amanda, 54, walked down the aisle with Chris in 2008. The couple had begun their romance four years earlier and are now proud parents to Lexi, aged 19, and 13-year-old Hollie.
Despite their lasting union, Amanda revealed Chris is yet to make her dinner during their time together. She made the revelation on her Heart Radio show with co-presenter Jamie Theakston and guests John Torode and Lisa Faulkner.
John and Lisa met while the Spooks actress was competing on Celebrity Masterchef in 2010, they began dating five years later. The couple married in 2019, the same year they launched John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen.
Introducing the celebrity guests on the airwaves, Jamie remarked: "Kitchens can be a very tense environment for couples, certainly in my household..." Prompting Amanda to quip: "My husband doesn't even step foot in it."

Jamie humorously suggested that perhaps Chris was unfamiliar with the kitchen's location, which led Amanda to share: "In 23 years he hasn't made me a dinner."
Lisa expressed her astonishment at Amanda’s revelation, stating: "I'm completely shocked that your husband has not made you dinner. I'm going to have a word with him."
Amanda responded assertively, voicing her irritation: "I think you should, it's actually starting to wind me up. Even on the weekends I get up first and I go, 'Do you want a coffee darling?' I even make the coffee."
Amanda went on to reveal that Chris is "incapable" in the kitchen. She says he can just about rustle up an omelette.

The Britain's Got Talent judge recently explained she is happy to be in a "lovely, secure relationship". She revealed why their relationship still feels fresh even after two decades together.
Speaking to Hello, she expressed gratitude for the stability in her life: "We have ups and downs like everyone else. But when I was looking at the pain and suffering that some of the people we were working with were going through, I felt so grateful that I had somebody in my life with no complications."
She continued to reflect on the longevity of their bond with a touch of humour: "My husband and I always have this joke where we go: 'God, our relationship still feels so fresh. Twenty-two years does feel like a long time, but it still feels new to me. I think that's because it's ever-evolving."
Their £7 million Surrey property is a bustling family home, as she previously described to Mail Online: "This is my dream home. My entire life I have wanted the dream home, and you know you do the stepping up and now I've finally got it."
In a candid chat with The Mirror, she acknowledged the challenges of maintaining such a property: "I am house proud, but I've got two kids, two dogs and a cat, so it's a family house. Everything is washable and wipeable. It's so open plan my littlest can cycle her bike around."
She also shared a light-hearted anecdote about the practicalities of having pets and children: "I don't have carpets on the ground floor and this is disgusting but I was doing an interview a while ago and my puppy pooed on the floor during the chat. But you don't worry if you have wooden floors. Two words: wipe clean."
