‘American Idol’ Winner Reveals Why She Won’t Attend Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour

Jordin Sparks, who won season 6 of “American Idol” during the singing competition’s original run on Fox, opened up about the reason she won’t be attending a “Cowboy Carter” show despite being a fan of Beyoncé.

The “No Air” hitmaker was asked in a June 9 AP News interview, “Have you gone to the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour?”

The songstress responded, “Those tickets are expensive, okay!?” Before explaining that while she admires the “Single Ladies” singer, she has more pressing things to spend her money on.

“I love her. I LOVE her. But I’m like, ‘They’re expensive.’ I got school to pay for. I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ But I’ve seen her clips I’ve been watching all the clips online,” the mom of one explained.

Sparks continued praising Beyoncé, and referenced Blue Ivy and Rumi’s appearances in the shows. “She’s incredible. And her bringing her daughters out, it’s just…Blue is gonna take it! Okay?” she said, before adding, “It’s just amazing to see her.”

How Much Are Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Tickets?

With Jordin Sparks’ recent reveal that she can’t afford a ticket, fans might be wondering how much a ticket actually costs.

The answer is that it depends on the country and venue, with tickets for the tour’s European stops generally costing less than their American counterparts. Tickets for Beyonce’s next show, scheduled for June 19 in London, begin at $82, and the cost dips as low as $52 for her Stade de France stop on June 21.

However, tickets Beyonce’s next upcoming American show in Houston TX start at $293, and go as high as $4,889 for a stage view from the pit, according to StubHub.

Billboard previously published a video in which they asked members of the “BeyHive,” Beyonce’s fanbase, how they felt about the ticket prices.

In it, one fan said, “Ticketmaster is ruining the concert experience. It’s a monopoly.”

Another said, “Oh my god. It’s a lot of money. I get it though, I do get it. I heard people be saving up and stuff like that, so it’s possible.”

The video’s host revealed she paid $1,200 for floor tickets to a Los Angeles stop of Beyonce’s last tour, “Renaissance,” back in 2023. “It’s a lot. That’s my rent,” she laughed.

Beyonce’ Celebrated Her Twins’ Birthday at Cowboy Carter Tour

The “Crazy In Love” singer took time out of her June 13 performance to shout out her twin children, Rumi and Sir Carter, whose birthday fell on the same day as the show.

After wrapping up the song “PROTECTOR” during which she was joined by Rumi onstage, concert footage shows the superstar telling fans, “Say happy birthday, Rumi!” The crowd obliged, and the mother of three then asked everyone to say “happy birthday” to her son, Sir.

“I love you!” exclaimed the “Hold Up” singer before planting a kiss on Rumi’s head before she headed offstage.
