Andy Cohen and Bravo ‘Hit the Panic Button’ Over RHONJ’s ‘Deep Pause’ — Report

It’s been almost a year since Bravo decided to cancel the Season 14 Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion, opting for the ladies to sit down in their separate factions to watch the finale and react. Andy Cohen didn’t get a chance to even try to moderate a conversation between the women. That’s how bad it got.

Since then, there’s been no word on what’s going to happen with RHONJ. Rumors pop up every week that casting conversations are underway, but then Andy turns around and says that they’re far off from making any decisions. Now, a new report suggests that the Bravo execs are hitting the panic button because they still can’t figure it out.

An insider spoke to the National Enquirer about the status of RHONJ, so we’re taking this with a grain of salt. Either way, this supposed insider said that there’s still “no clear plan to move forward” with the once-beloved Housewives franchise.

Previously, there were reports that Bravo was considering bringing an all-new cast to fully reboot the franchise. We all know that didn’t go over well with the Real Housewives of New York. With that in mind, Bravo executives are supposedly just staring at a puzzle that they can’t piece together.

“They’ve hit the panic button,” the insider claimed. “The last thing Andy wants is another RHONY-style reboot disaster — but the current cast? It’s not working. And they know it.”

Meanwhile, some fans are looking to the recently announced Real Housewives of Rhode Island to serve as a spiritual successor to RHONJ. The synopsis from Bravo teased “tangled family dynamics.” Additionally, Andy said in an interview that the cast felt “Italian with a capital I.” All of that sounds very Jersey.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more updates on the future of RHONJ, if there is one. However, the fact that Bravo still hasn’t announced anything sends a clear message. Sometimes, not making a decision is a decision in itself.
