Andy Cohen Finds Kyle Richards ‘Aspirational and Relatable’

Kyle Richards is the original cast member left standing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s shared everything with the camera. Like her or not, but it has to be said that she has helped carry the show for 14 seasons. Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen feels she is an integral part of RHOBH, and had to react when his leading lady was shown seemingly ready to quit.

Footage included in the Season 14 trailer showed Kyle storming off camera and announcing that she was done. Viewers are curious as to whether she still feels that way post-filming or will she be back for another season. Andy publicly shared his thoughts on the matter.

Andy Cohen praised Kyle Richards for letting “people in” throughout her time on RHOBH

Kyle speaks directly to the camera when she said, “I’m not doing this anymore.” She then walks away.

Andy exclusively told Us Weekly that he is not aware that Kyle made any decision, but that he would want her back for future seasons.

“I mean, I always hope she’ll stay,” he told the news publication.

Kyle is good for business. She has a strong backing amongst RHOBH fans and made it possible to be the friend next door as well as an elite in the Beverly Hills social scene.

“I think she lets people in. I think she translates the world of Beverly Hills to the viewer and has for a long time,” Andy shared. “She’s been aspirational and relatable, yet her life is totally glamorous.”

Kyle felt that she had reached her “breaking point”

Kyle also reacted to the questions in an interview from October 2024. She didn’t offer much in the way of an explanation for being “done,” though.

“I had a meltdown. My first in 14 years. I was like, ‘I don’t think I can physically do this anymore,'” she told Us Weekly . “I walked off the set and didn’t shoot the next day. I was at my breaking point.” She continued: “I have so much on my plate, and some of the women just push.”

Perhaps it’s to be expected that Kyle would have a challenging season. She separated from longtime husband Mauricio Umansky last year. And the two are living apart now.

According to a press release for Season 14, Kyle “steps into an uncharted phase of life, grappling with the reality of her separation from her husband, Mauricio.” Also, “with their daughter Alexia also out of the house, Kyle’s once bustling home is no longer what it used to be, leaving her to adjust to her new normal.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 premieres Tuesday November 19 at 8/7c on Bravo.
