Andy Cohen cleared up a long-standing rumor about “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Speaking with Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” in May 2025, the Bravo host addressed the rumor that ”Summer House” star Lindsay Hubbard will be joining RHONY next season. Cohen assured fans that casting move is not in the works, but he did hint that Hubbard will be back on TV.
“I don’t think so,” Cohen said of Hubbard’s potential move to the “Real Housewives” franchise. “But I think she should always be on TV,” he added of the Bravo veteran.
Hubbard welcomed her first child, Gemma, in December. During a February 2025 interview with “Housewives Nightcap,” she admitted that a lot of people have brought her the idea of joining RHONY, as spending full weekends at the “Summer House” party house won’t be a fit for her this year.
“It’s not up to me,” Hubbard said of her future on the network. “It’s up to the powers that be, and I think they need to figure it out. And it’s very flattering and amazing that you know people obviously see something in me that is made for reality TV and want to continue owing me the opportunity to entertain them on whatever platform. So I just need all the powers that be to figure out what platform that is so that I can, you know, move in one direction or another.”
Andy Cohen Clarified What is Going on With RHONY

Cohen also cleared up rumors that RHONY will be completely recast for season 16. “We are between seasons,“ he said in the interview. “And we’re always casting, and that’s what’s happening right now.”
The question was in response to a previous report that the longtime show was going “off the air.” RHONY has been on “pause” for several months, and the cast’s status has been in question following a difficult season 15 finale with stars Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Brynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank, Sai De Silva, Jenna Lyons, Racquel Chevremont, and Rebecca Minkoff.
Cohen also addressed the RHONY rumors on his Sirius XM podcast “Andy Cohen Live.” “I don’t know how else to say it,” he shared on May 13. “We are in between seasons on the Housewives. But what’s so interesting is last when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new ‘Real Housewives of New York.’”
“This is called the casting process between seasons,” he added. “And it’s heavily underway and that’s why nothing has been announced.”
Cohen also told People magazine the “latest” on RHONY is, “We’re just in between seasons, We’re always casting, and we have some great possibilities. That’s the latest.”
Andy Cohen Said RHONJ Will Remain on Hiatus

Another Housewives show that is hot on everyone’s minds is “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” The show, which has also been rumored for a recasting, has been on hold for nearly a year, and Cohen reiterated it’s not coming back any time soon. “Oh, not for a while. Oh yeah,” he told “Housewives Nightcap.”
Last December, Cohen told Us Weekly that it could be 2026 before an official announcement is made When asked for an RHONJ update, Cohen said, “You’re not gonna get it for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking. And I keep saying you are going to get nothing, so stop asking!”
