Bravo recently announced that there would be no Season 14 reunion for Real Housewives of New Jersey. The fan-favorite franchise has been on air for fifteen years now and no reunion is a first.
Naturally, all hell broke loose after the announcement. The lack of a reunion, which is a Real Housewives staple, usually indicates that something is very wrong. Given the absolute ice wall between OG Teresa Giudice and sister/enemy-in-law Melissa Gorga, speculation has immediately pointed to them.
Now Bravo Daddy Andy Cohen is trying to explain why producers came to this surprising decision.
The season finale will be a “classic”
While appearing on an episode of SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Kiki Monique, Andy teased why fans should understand this unprecedented move.
“I do want to give some context to the announcement over the weekend that there was gonna be no Jersey reunion because I feel like there are a lot of theories about what this could mean,” he stated. “I think that the main thing is, this will all make sense once you see the finale.”
Andy went on to say that the RHONJ finale this season will be a “classic” that “people will be talking about for a long time to come.”
Once producers saw just how epic the season finale was, they “all came to the decision separately” and decided that “the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one.”
“It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like The Last Supper and is just so Jersey,” Andy revealed. “And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV.”
Bravo has something else in mind
The executive producer also promised viewers that they will “feel complete” after seeing the final episode. Additionally, Andy teased that the network is “cooking up” something to take the place of a reunion.
“I feel like this announcement about the reunion came without much context, and so I just wanted to fill in some of the blanks for you,” Andy concluded.
