Tom Sandoval’s ex-assistant Ann Maddox called out a podcast host for claiming she wants to be a “star” and not an “assistant,” as Ann called it “insane” to assume that the job was her “life goal.” Plus, a fan recently revealed if she still works at Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s sandwich shop, Something About Her.

Ann Maddox Calls Out Podcast Host for Suggesting She Wants to Be a “Star” and Not an “Assistant,” as Ann Calls It “Insane” to Assume Being an Assistant Was Her “Life Goal,” Plus Does Ann Still Work at Something About Her?

On the latest season of Vanderpump Rules, Tom fired Ann after she took a job interview with Ariana, his ex. After the season wrapped, Ann – who apparently signed an NDA while working for him – started a podcast called We Signed an NDA, and she has alluded to her dealings with Tom.

During Katie’s recent interview on Not Skinny But Not Fat, host Amanda Hirsch suggested that Ann wanted to be a star rather than an assistant. Ann’s boss Katie then defended her.

On the I Take Bravo Very Seriously podcast, Ann was asked to respond to Amanda’s shade.

“This is a hard question for me to answer,” she said, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram.

But Ann laughed at Amanda’s suggestion, adding, “Whose life goal is to be an assistant? I mean, that’s insane to me.”

Around the same time, a fan posted a photo with Ann at Something About Her, confirming she still works at the sandwich shop.

“We met icon @mikiannmaddox at @somethingabouther!” wrote @watchwhatcrappens in the post’s caption on Instagram before alluding to their lawsuit with the original chef, Penny Davidi. “Congrats to @musickillskate and @arianamadix that restaurant is a real banger. Hoping for a #PennySucks sandwich real soon. We had five sandwiches and some cookies to boot.”

When the past season aired, Ann addressed getting fired after filming a job interview with Tom’s ex Ariana in the house where the exes still lived.

“When we originally were supposed to shoot that interview, Tom was not supposed to be home,” recalled Ann on her podcast. “But then [their dog] ate [a] chicken skewer, so we had to cancel it. And so the only other time we could shoot it was when Tom was home.”

Ann suggested that producers played a hand in it.

“You can’t really argue with the producers. It gets a little sticky,” she added. “That’s probably all I could say for now … I want to make it clear that I was never formally fired. How many months has it been since August? … The day after that all happened, I got a text saying, ‘You don’t have to come in. [Tom] just needs some time,’ and I texted back, ‘okay,’ and that was the last time we [communicated].”
