Avengers 5 Theory Explains How Venom & Knull Could Be In Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland is coming back for more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a new Avengers: Doomsday theory presents the perfect reasoning for how Venom and Knull could end up in Spider-Man 4. Holland's Spider-Man movies are easily among the best in the MCU, be it quality-wise or financially. Spider-Man: No Way Home was an Avengers-level event, nearly breaking the $2 billion mark. As such, Sony and Marvel must be having a hard time figuring out whether to continue the setup from Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending into a street-level story or go back to the multiverse well for more.

Either way, Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 is happening. The movie's story is still being kept a secret, but rumors about the possible returns of Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have already started to emerge. So far, nothing is certain, but with the MCU's Multiverse Saga entering its final stretch, Spider-Man 4's placement on the MCU's schedule seems to suggest that a multiverse story might be what is in store for the movie. Spider-Man 4 is the only film confirmed to be released between the next two Avengers movies, and its possible multiverse story could include Venom and Knull.

Peter Parker Should Be One Of The Film's Key Characters

As is the case for Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, no concrete details about Avengers: Doomsday's story have been revealed. However, a major announcement has been made, with Robert Downey Jr. back in the MCU to play Doctor Doom in the next two Avengers movies. RDJ's MCU return instantly points to Holland's Spider-Man playing a major role in the upcoming Avengers movies. Iron Man was Peter Parker's mentor in the franchise, and even if Marvel Studios chooses not to make a Tony Stark variant of Doctor Doom, the fact the villain has the same face as Stark should play a role.

Given the popularity of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, his prior role in two Avengers movies, and Peter's connection to Downey's first MCU character, there is a good chance that Holland will have many interactions with Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. An MCU theory views Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending, with Peter forgotten by the world and sad, as the perfect setup for Doctor Doom to manipulate him. By learning about Tony Stark's mentor relationship with Peter, Doom could manipulate the hero and eventually kill him. This would give Avengers: Doomsday at least one major death, similar to Avengers: Infinity War's ending.
