Strictly Come Dancing star Iwan Thomas issued an emotional post after his son Teddy was injured in an accident
Strictly Come Dancing star Iwan Thomas revealed his five year old son Teddy had been rushed to hospital for surgery following an accident.
The former Olympic sprinter, 51, posted a picture of his eldest child in the hospital after Teddy underwent surgery for a broken arm.
Iwan, who was paired with former Strictly pro Ola Jordan on the BBC show in 2015, commended his son for his bravery and strength.
He uploaded a photo showing Teddy with his arm bandaged and in a sling as his son smiled.
In a heartfelt message, Iwan wrote: "We are so immensely proud of Teddy.
"He has been through so much in his life already and now a broken arm that required surgery but yet he doesn't moan at all, just gets on with it and shows nothing but kindness and love to others.
"We can all learn so much from kids, their resilience and courage humbles me daily."
It is not the first time Teddy has faced a health scare. Shortly after he was born premature back in December 2018, he was taken straight to the intensive care unit after experiencing problems with his breathing.
Teddy had contracted Group B Streptococcus, also known as Group B Strep, a common bacterial infection, at birth.
At the time, Iwan wrote: "I just wanted to share with you some great and also horrendous news.
"My baby boy came into the World on Sat he’s so gorgeous I went home the happiest man alive that night only to be phoned to say he’s been taken to intensive care with trouble breathing.
"Yesterday was the worst day of my life looking at my everything with tubes everywhere in an incubator.
He is now beginning to breathe better for himself without full aid of machines, I now know what true unconditional love is."
Fortunately, Teddy made a recovery after spending his initial ten days in hospital fighting the infection.
Iwan also has two other sons, Dougie, three, and one year old Bowie, with his wife Anna.
