Bethenny Frankel recently shared an update on her move to Miami with her daughter, Bryn. The mother-daughter duo is adjusting well to their new digs, and Bryn, 15, is especially excited to be there. “I have a sunshine baby,” the “RHONY” alum shared with Us Weekly.
Frankel went on to say that she and Bryn feel very at home by the beach. “We are water people. Today, I’m in the city … she asked me if she could go back out and just be out by the water, by herself,” Frankel shared, adding, “She just likes to be free.”
It seems the Skinnygirl founder and her daughter are really thriving in their new environment. Frankel said she and Bryn are “… just excited for sunshine and sports and being outside and being near the beach. It’s who we really are.”
Why Frankel Made the Move
In June, Frankel sold her Connecticut home making a $3.5 million profit on the deal. She purchased her Miami condo for around $1.7 million back in 2024, expecting it to be a vacation residence.
But according to Frankel, Bryn really wanted to move to Florida. “She meant it, and she begged me. She didn’t have to beg me, like, she was like, ‘I really want this,’” she explained on an episode of her podcast “Just B with Bethenny Frankel.”
While Bryn pushing for the move was a motivating factor, Frankel later admitted that the size of her historic Connecticut home was “drowning” her.
In a TikTok, she explained, “It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life. I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I’d be entertaining there a lot.”
Frankel’s Florida Roots
While fans know Frankel as an OG of “The Real Housewives of New York” and she gives off major New York vibes, it turns out the reality star has always had a strong connection to Florida.
“I went to high school in Florida and I’ve been going there my entire life, even since I was a younger, since I was a baby,” she told Us Weekly.
And while her Miami condo was originally meant for short-term stays, Frankel confessed that at a certain point it began to really feel like home. “It started to make me feel like, ‘Wait, I really feel like I live here,’ even before this whole decision happened,” she explained.
