Big Contingent Of Canadiens Players In Town For Suzuki’s Wedding?

Over two months ago, in an article about the wedding season being upon us, we reported that signs pointed to Montreal Canadiens’ captain Nick Suzuki getting married in town on July 26th. So far, we’ve seen a lot of wedding pictures online, those of Noah Dobson and J.T. Compher, to name a few, and none of Suzuki’s.

On Tuesday, we got another indication that Saturday may just be the big day. Suzuki and Ivan Demidov are registered to play in the LSHL this Summer, and while they were in town yesterday, they weren’t in action. However, two players who aren’t part of the regulars or even registered to play were there: Tyler Toffoli and Jake Evans. Perhaps they are in Montreal for the upcoming nuptials?

Furthermore, there were plenty of Canadiens players training at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard. Suzuki and Demidov were there, but they were also joined by forwards Alex Newhook and Patrik Laine, as well as blueliners Arber Xhekaj and Jayden Struble.

Granted, Demidov and Laine have said they are spending the Summer in Montreal, but that’s not the case for Newhook, Xhekaj, and Struble. That combined with Toffoli and Evans playing in the LSHL makes a compelling case for a July 26 wedding.

We’ll just have to wait and see what social media reveals this weekend, but if I were a betting woman, my money would be on a wedding this Saturday.
