Bills Coach Sean McDermott Off Hot Seat Amid Major Announcement

This weekend needs to different, and if it is not, a lot of things in Buffalo might be subject to Bills Mafia calls for change.

But at this moment? Bills head coach Sean McDermott is sitting not on the ol' hot seat ... but rather pretty high up on a coaching throne.

How high?

The Bills boss has just received some nice news as The Maxwell Football Club announced McDermott as the winner of the arle Greasy Neale Award as the Most Outstanding Coach in Professional Football.

The credentials are all there. The Bills went 13-4 - with many critics suggesting they wouldn't even make the playoffs. They are the perennial kings of the AFC East, this year barely even touched by division rivals.

There is that thing McDermott hasn't done around here - you know, that Super Bowl thing - but he's accomplished most everything else, as the award presentation notes.

"Established in 2001, the Greasy Neale Award is a distinguished honor in professional football, awarded annually to the NFL's most outstanding head coach. This prestigious accolade recognizes exceptional leadership, strategic innovation, and significant impact on the game," the Maxwell Football Club said about the honor.

"The Greasy Neale Award honors coaches who embody the visionary leadership, strategic excellence, and dedication that Neale exemplified throughout his career. By recognizing the top NFL coach each year, the award upholds Neale’s legacy, celebrating those who demonstrate exceptional skill in leading their teams to success."

McDermott has done all of that. What's left to accomplish? Just that one more thing.
