The Buffalo Bills will look to win their eighth-straight game on Sunday when they travel to face the Los Angeles Rams.
The Bills are in a strong position in the AFC, which has primarily been due to the play of quarterback Josh Allen, who is one of the top contenders for league MVP. His campaign continued on in Week 13, when he became the first player in league history to score a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game.
On Wednesday, Allen was rewarded for the massive performance, as he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. It's the second time this season and 14th time in his career that he's earned the honor.
Allen's performance on Sunday was also big in the context of Bills history, as he surpassed Hall of Famer Jim Kelly to become Buffalo's all-time leader in career total touchdowns with 248.
Following the game, coach Sean McDermott congratulated Allen for his historic accomplishment.
"What an accomplishment," head coach Sean McDermott said. "Couldn't happen to a better person. Super happy for him and what he's got going on off the field as well and how he continues to grow and this is a new chapter in his life. So just extremely proud, impressed and just fun watching him grow through the years."
While Offensive Player of the Week awards, and even a potential MVP, are nice accomplishments for Allen's resume, he's likely more focused on bringing a Super Bowl to Buffalo for the first time ever.
