Bills Release Sean McDermott Scouting Report In Season Review

The Buffalo Bills got so close, yet so far in 2024 as defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game saw Sean McDermott's team again fail in the postseason.

Bills Release Sean McDermott Scouting Report In Season Review

After a consistent regular season that saw Josh Allen clean up his turnovers and lead the Bills to a 13-4 record, while being an MVP candidate and winning two playoff games, Buffalo, once again, fell at the hands of the Chiefs.

Given that not much time has passed since the 32-29 loss, it can be hard to fully grasp what was accomplished this season for the Bills, and McDermott offered up his thoughts on how the year transpired.

“Overall, good season, came up a little bit short and that feeling never goes away,” McDermott said. “I know some people say it goes away, at least for me, it doesn't ever go away until you get to a spot where you can say hey we were the best in the world. That is a lofty goal but it's our goal every season and that's what we look forward to doing every season and we were just short of it this year in terms of a couple plays here and there and that's what happens in the playoffs, every play gets magnified.”

That feeling likely won't ever leave until the Bills win a Super Bowl, and they will now have to wait at least another year to get a chance to get back to the AFC Championship game.

It felt like this was Buffalo's year, but with the defeat, Patrick Mahomes has now beaten Allen four straight times in the playoffs, and that leaves many wondering if No. 17 will ever slay his bogeyman.

This one will hurt Bills Mafia, as once again, they got so close yet fell at the final hurdle. Given how long this has gone on, it might take a little longer to get over.
