Hope was excited to restart her life.
The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Tuesday, May 20 saw Hope’s return to the office, Carter telling Hope like it is, and a text from Grace giving Liam a moment of pause.
What Happened Today On Bold and the Beautiful?
Hope (Annika Noelle) was thrilled to be back in the office. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), of course, was also thrilled. Not so thrilled, though, was Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). He had questions. Many questions. Hope explained that she and Steffy found mutual ground and a way to come together. It’s a work in progress but they are in a better place and trying. She was hoping Ridge will forgive her, as well. And, more than that, she’s also determined to fix her relationship with another person too.
Ridge was open to giving her a second chance and hoped she’d find her place in the company again. Then, Brooke encouraged her to call Carter and give him the great news. All the while, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) was at home mulling over Hope (Annika Noelle) wanting Liam (Scott Clifton) back. He was obviously crushed and not over his flame. He picked up her call and invited her over to the loft.
Moments of Honesty
Hope arrived and Carter almost reluctantly let her in. She dropped her big news that she and Steffy have mostly made up and she’s back at the design house. When she mentioned that some of this is thanks to Liam, Carter got defensive and outright asked if there was something else she wanted to tell him…about Liam. Hope pretended to not know what he’s talking about so Carter spelled it out for her. He was right outside her door when she was practically begging for Liam to take her back.
Carter explained what he heard and how he was warned by Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) that this was going to happen. She knew Hope would break his heart and run back to her ex. And, she was right! Hope interrupted. She threw herself into his arms and swore he was the man she wanted to be with – not Liam. This should have been music to Carter’s ears, but instead, he was stiff as a board in her arms. Talk about mixed signals!
Peace…For Now
Back at the office, Brooke and Ridge discussed Hope’s rehiring. Brooke was over the moon but she noticed Ridge wasn’t overly excited. No, he wasn’t. He wanted to know how this played out between their daughters. Why now? He knew this wouldn’t just come out of nowhere. Brooke didn’t want to dig too hard. She wanted to back in the peacefulness of it all
At the Cliff House, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) woke up in the morning feeling hopeful about Liam’s future. Unfortunately, her dreams were crushed when Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Liam broke the news that the brain scans didn’t show any improvement. Steffy was devastated, but managed to lift his spirits by explaining how she and Hope are on friendly ground now, so at least there’s that. More prospective good news came when Finn got a text from Grace (Cassandra Creech) summoning him and Liam to talk about possible treatment options.
