Charlie McAvoy has gotten some exciting news, as Team USA has announced that the Boston Bruins defenseman has made their roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
In addition to McAvoy, Jack Eichel (Vegas Golden Knights), Quinn Hughes (Vancouver Canucks), Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs), Brady Tkachuk (Ottawa Senators), and Matthew Tkachuk (Florida Panthers) have been named to Team USA's roster.
It is not surprising in the slightest that McAvoy has already been named to Team USA's roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics. He is one of the top defensemen in the NHL, and he should be a very important part of Team USA's blueline because of it.
McAvoy, 27, appeared in 50 games this season with the Bruins, posting seven goals, 23 points, 81 blocks, and 89 hits. His campaign came to an end after suffering a serious AC joint shoulder injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off representing Team USA.
In 504 career NHL games over eight seasons, McAvoy has recorded 60 goals, 240 assists, 300 assists, and a plus-144 rating
