The Bruins are keeping two of their prospects around.
The Boston Bruins are keeping two of their prospect defensemen around, re-signing Alec Regula and Michael Callahan to one-year, two-way contracts. At the NHL level, they will each carry a $775,000 cap hit.
Regula, 23, was acquired by the Bruins from the Chicago Blackhawks last offseason in the Taylor Hall trade. The Michigan native is coming off a strong season with the Providence Bruins, posting four goals, 26 points, and a league-leading plus-36 rating in 55 games.

Regula will look to earn a spot on the Bruins' opening-night roster but certainly has plenty of competition, given the strength of the Original Six's club defense. As a result, it seems more likely that he will be down in Providence again.
Callahan, 24, appeared in 70 games this past season with Providence, recording four goals, 17 points, and a minus-14 rating. The Franklin, Massachusetts native has yet to make his debut in the NHL but will look to change that next season. However, he will likely start the season down in the AHL.
