That distinction belongs to Nate Danielson, whom Detroit selected with the ninth overall pick at last June's draft and whose season in the WHL (split between the Brandon Wheat Kings and Portland Winterhawks) recently wrapped up by way of a defeat in the WHL Finals.

Danielson scored 26 points in 26 games with the Wheat Kings to start his season, then added 41 more in 28 in Portland, before chipping in 24 more during an 18 game postseason run.  He is renown for the maturity of his 200-foot-game and early aptitude for defensive responsibility as well as his vision as a puckhandler.

Danielson joins a Griffins team looking to build on a Game 1 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals and take a 2-0 strange hold on the best-of-five series tonight in Milwaukee.
