Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner And Theresa Nist Divorced
TMZ broke the news on Thursday that Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are officially divorced. They continue to make history with firsts. They were the first Golden Bachelor couple. Then, they had the first-ever Golden Wedding in record time. Sadly only three months later they would be the first divorcees of the Golden Bachelor spinoff.
After raving about how in love they are, Gerry and Theresa shocked Bachelor Nation when they filed for divorce two months ago. The news outlet obtained legal documents indicating that in the Indiana court system, Gerry and Theresa are done.
Their divorce paperwork has been signed, filed, and finalized. They are no longer husband and wife. It was noted that a settlement agreement was also filed. There are no details yet about what was on the document. However, Theresa and Gerry did sign a prenup prior to their wedding so there shouldn’t be much to it.
The details were not visible but did show that Gerry paid $157 when he filed the initial paperwork in Indiana.
The divorce papers noted there were no kids in the relationship and since the prenup was on file it was pretty quick and painless for them both. Gerry did submit a change of address which was also included in the paperwork.
Why Did They Split So Fast?
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist did not share too much insight into why they filed for divorce so quickly. However, rumor has it that she backed out of their plans for her to quit her job and move somewhere with him. In the end, neither wanted to leave their family.
They made the announcement that they were divorcing on Good Morning America. That same day, Gerry went to file the paperwork.
He did that on April 12. Now nearly exactly two months later it’s all final.
As their marriage ends, Joan Vassos is on her way to Los Angeles to begin filming The Golden Bachelorette.
