Aaron Rodgers' future in the NFL remains a big question mark. After a disastrous 2024 season that saw the New York Jets finish with a 5-12 record and fail to make the playoffs, questions abound as to whether Rodgers will retire or keep playing and whether or not he will return to the New York franchise.
Brett Favre, however, has an important message for him before he makes his decision.
The 41-year-old QB has said previously that he's going to take a break mentally first before making a decision on his future. However, Rodgers also said he'll make a decision before "it gets too late in the offseason."
Furthermore, the Jets quarterback hasn't really provided many hints about his future. While he has said he's open to returning to the team, Rodgers has also been open about the possibility of New York releasing him.
Rodgers is under contract with the Jets until 2025, and he's due $23.5 million in 2025—which is the final year of the restructured contract he signed with the franchise back in 2023.
As Rodgers ponders about his future, though, Favre shared his opinion on what he thinks the four-time NFL MVP should do about his career.
The Green Bay Packers icon, who played with Rodgers from 2005 to 2007, shared his belief that the veteran signal-caller should keep playing if there's even the tiniest desire in him to do so.
"If there's any little inkling in him that wants to play and prove that he can still do it at a high level, then I would say do it," Favre told TMZ Sports.
For what it's worth, Favre is confident that Rodgers still has it in him to play at the highest level.
"I just know that he still can play," Favre explained. "It's just a matter of does he want to and does he want to give it his all and does a team want to take a chance on him."
It remains to be seen what Aaron Rodgers will do in his career, but if he ever wants to know what Brett Favre thinks, he already knows what his answer would be.
