Residents will be able to catch a live performance of Watford’s golden buzzer-earning act Electric Umbrella today.
The Watford rock and roll band, formed of neurodivergent musicians, will perform the song which saw them through to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals in unprecedented circumstances on Saturday night’s show, Acceptance, during a singalong on The Green in Sarratt from 2.30pm.
It will be a special community performance alongside Sarratt School, which sent performers to the TV staple's stage with the music and performance charity group.
Headteacher Nicola O’Hare said that the show will give the primary school, which has worked with Electric Umbrella for seven years, an opportunity for a “collective celebration”.
Only a handful of pupils appeared on stage during the auditions, so it will allow the whole school to highlight the work they do with Electric Umbrella and why it is so important.
The young performers and their families apparently did a “marvellous job” keeping the win under wraps while being “so excited” after the recording, but waiting for it to air has apparently been a strange feeling.
“It was like normal school, but in the background, you were pinching yourself thinking 'did that actually happen',” Mrs O’Hare added.
This afternoon, Electric Umbrella’s performers and Sarratt School will be able to truly let all the excitement out.
Electric Umbrella co-founder and CEO Mel Boda, speaking the Watford Observer shortly after appearing on ITV’s This Morning, said that she hopes people will be able to come along to the performance, as the charity aims to use the national TV platform to help deliver on its mission.
“We’re going to sing Acceptance and we are going to sing some of the other songs that we have written with the school,” she added.
