Bruins Do Not Qualify Jesper Boqvist & 2 Prospects

The Bruins have elected to not send Jesper Boqvist a qualifying offer.

The Boston Bruins are allowing Jesper Boqvist to become an unrestricted free agent, as they did not give him a qualifying offer.

Boqvist, 25, proved to be a solid addition to the Bruins' bottom six this season. Because of this, some may be surprised that GM Don Sweeney has not sent him a qualifying offer.

After starting the 2023-24 season with the Providence Bruins, Boqvist was recalled in January and cemented himself a spot on the Bruins' fourth line. He put together a decent season in the role, recording six goals, 14 points, and a plus-12 rating in 47 games. He also appeared in eight playoff games, posting one assist.

With Boqvist coming off a solid season with the Bruins, he should receive some interest as a UFA this summer. He is a serviceable bottom-six who can play both down the middle and on the wing, which adds to his appeal.

Prospects Curtis Hall and Joey Abate also did not receive qualifying offers from the Bruins.
