Bruins Forward Reportedly Linked To 3 Teams

The Boston Bruins have struggled with consistency this season. With this, president Cam Neely stated last month that the team is considering two potential paths: buying or retooling the roster.

If the Bruins elect to sell at the deadline, forward Trent Frederic will be a clear player to watch. The 2016 first-round is a pending unrestricted free agent and could be a solid trade chip for the Original Six club because of his hard-nosed style of play.

It appears that Frederic is generating some interest, as The Fourth Period reported that the Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals, and Minnesota Wild are linked to the Bruins gritty forward.

The Canucks' bottom six could use some work, so it is understandable that a player like Frederic would be on their radar. He would give them another option for their third line, whether he plays on the wing or down the middle.

The Capitals have cemented themselves as a real threat in the NHL again this season. They have a 34-11-7 record and are at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Thus, they will be buyers, and Frederic could be a solid player for them to add to their bottom six, especially for the playoffs.

As for the Wild, it is not a secret that they could use more forward depth, and Frederic would give them that. When looking at their current group, Frederic could work on their third line as well.

From here, it will be fascinating to see what the Bruins decide to do with Frederic. He could be moved if he remains without a contract near the deadline and the Bruins do not improve in the standings.
