Earlier this offseason, the Boston Bruins signed forward Max Jones to a two-year, $2 million contract. With this move, the Bruins have added a 6-foot-3 winger who plays a heavy game to their bottom six.
However, it is also fair to wonder if Jones could take his game to a new level with the Bruins. The Rochester, Michigan native needed a change of scenery from the Anaheim Ducks, and he now has gotten it. Instead of playing for a rebuilding club, he now has more offensive weapons to work with on the Bruins. This could lead to his offense going up in 2024-25.
We have seen the Bruins help newcomers hit new levels with their play after adding them. Two recent examples who have benefitted immensely after joining the Bruins are Morgan Geekie and Pavel Zacha. Perhaps Jones could be the next player to see his all-around game improve after joining the Bruins.

Jones is also a former top prospect, as the Ducks selected him with the 24th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. While he did not become the top-six power forward they hoped he would, there is still time for him to take that next step and become a potential third-liner.
Ultimately, Jones has all the tools to at least become a popular player in Boston. He plays like a classic Bruin, as he never backs away from the physical side of the game and is known for his hard work ethic. However, if he breaks out and takes his scoring to a new level, he could become another steal of a signing for the B's.
