This is tough news for the Bruins.
The Boston Bruins have announced that forward Mark Kastelic has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 20.
Kastelic, 25, just returned to the Bruins' lineup on Jan. 18 against the Ottawa Senators, where he recorded an assist and dropped the gloves against former teammate Zack Ostapchuk.
However, in the Bruins' last game against the San Jose Sharks on Jan. 20, Kastelic did not play during the third period due to an injury.

It is certainly tough to see Kastelic heading back to injured reserve so quickly. The 6-foot-4 forward has become such an important part of the Bruins' bottom six, and it's why they signed him to a three-year extension earlier this month.
Kastelic has four goals, 13 points, 175 hits, and 86 penalty minutes in 45 contests with the Bruins this season.
With Kastelic being placed on injured reserve, the Bruins have also recalled Max Jones and Patrick Brown.
