This Bruins goalie will be between the pipes against the Sabres.
The Boston Bruins are set to face off against the Buffalo Sabres tonight at TD Garden. The Sabres are entering this contest losing 12 straight games, so the Bruins will look to take advantage of the ice-cold squad.
In their last game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Bruins lost by 3-2 in overtime. This is after they had a 2-0 lead in the first period. Thus, their goal will be to bounce back after their deflating loss.
For this contest against the Sabres, the Bruins will be going with Joonas Korpisalo as their starting goalie.
Korpisalo, 30, last played on Dec. 12 against the Seattle Kraken. It was a tough night for the 2012 third-round pick, as he allowed four goals on just 20 shots in the loss.
However, before this shaky performance against the Kraken, Korpisalo had a .903 save percentage or better in five out of his previous six starts. This also included two shutouts, so the Pori, Finland native will look to get back to this kind of form against Buffalo.
In 11 games this season with the Bruins, Korpisalo sports a 6-3-1 record, a 2.56 goals-against average, and a .901 save percentage.
