The Boston Bruins tried out an interesting new defensive pairing at practice.
With it being the beginning of the season and the Boston Bruins having several new players, head coach Jim Montgomery has tried out multiple different lines. It appears that there is a chance that he could continue this trend against the Los Angeles Kings today (Oct. 12).
During yesterday's (Oct. 11) practice, the Bruins once again made a change to their blueline. This time, Mason Lohrei took Parker Wotherspoon's spot on the bottom pairing with Andrew Peeke.

This change comes after Lohrei was scratched for the Bruins' home-opener against the Montreal Canadiens. In addition, in the club's first game of the season against the Florida Panthers, Lohrei skated on the second pairing with Brandon Carlo.
As for Peeke, he has played each game on the Bruins' bottom pairing. However, he has had a different partner in each game, as he skated with Nikita Zadorov against the Panthers and Wotherspoon against the Habs. Now, if the Bruins use these practice lines against LA, Peeke will have his third different defense partner in three games.
With Lohrei being an offensive defenseman and Peeke playing a shutdown role, these two certainly have the potential to be a nice fit. We will need to wait and see if they end up playing together against the Kings from here.
