Bryce Young, the Carolina Panthers quarterback, has played in 30 games. He has had a taste of many NFL defenses.
After two years in the NFL, Bryce Young has gotten more than just a toe wet. Rather, he has gone deep-sea diving in the league. The Carolina Panthers quarterback has gone through two year-long grinds and 30 regular season games, so he knows what it’s like to be in the NFL. He also knows what it’s like to have pundits talk about potentially benching Young.
At least on the regular season side of January, the quarterback has had a taste of everything. However, Young hasn’t had his breakout moment, so he hasn’t quite solved the NFL Rubik’s Cube just yet, despite Young receiving praise from Luke Kuechly earlier this year. He’s shown flashes, but nothing to say that he has arrived.
That doesn’t mean he can’t tell a complicated defense from a simple one.
Bryce Young declares the simplest defense he’s ever faced
Speaking on a February 10 edition of “Gruden Goes Long,” Young claimed that the Philadelphia Eagles defense was the most “simple” that he had ever played against.
He said: “The Eagles were probably the most simple team we schemed against. And that just speaks to the level of execution they played.
“Third down was by far the most simple I probably played in two years and for them to play at such a high level like they don’t rely on you know, it’s just they have a lot of great players.
“A lot of great players to play a system really well and they’re coached really well.”
