Rasmus Dahlin
Rasmus Dahlin has been everything that the Sabres hoped for when they selected him first overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He is their top superstar and will be the heart of their blueline for many years to come. Thus, he is a clear option for the Sabres to consider for the captaincy.
Besides being an incredibly skilled player, Dahlin has also developed into more of a leader for the Sabres in recent years. He is an alternate captain for the club, so he has experience in an important leadership role. Thus, it would not be surprising in the slightest if he received the 'C.'
Alex Tuch
Alex Tuch would also make sense as captain for the Sabres. The 28-year-old is one of the Sabres' most important forwards, as he is not only skilled but also has a very high work ethic. These elements have allowed the Syracuse, New York native to blossom into a leader for the Sabres as well.
Tuch has also generated plenty of praise for his leadership abilities. Thus, whether he sports the 'C' or an 'A,' Tuch should be a long-term part of the Sabres' leadership core.
