The #Canes have activated goaltender Frederik Andersen from injured reserve.

This is a massive blow to the Canucks, as Boeser has been one of the most prominent performers for the team in the playoffs. Currently, Boeser is leading the Canucks in goals and points, registering 7 goals and 13 points in 12 games.
Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen also dealt with a blood clotting issue this season, which kept him out of play from November 2nd, 2023 until March 7th of 2024. There's no timetable for Boeser's return, but if it's anything like Andersen, it could be a long time and quite unpredictable.
Earlier today at Canucks practice, JT Miller and Tyler Myers were absent, also likely nursing minor injuries themselves. With Thatcher Demko ruled out for game 7 as well, the Canucks will ice a significant weaker lineup than usual. On the other hand, the Oilers will have an opportunity to eliminate a depleted Canucks team.
With Boeser's absence being a more serious medical concern, all thoughts of hockey go out the window. Fans of both teams send only well-wishes to Boeser for his recovery, and hopefully being able to continue his career next season.
