There is quite a bit of anticipation for April. The next season of the highly regarded series The Last of Us will air, and with it will come a slew of new characters and storylines. However, we already know when we’ll get our next sneak peek at the upcoming season. It looks like those who are attending SXSW will want to tune into the panel focusing on the HBO show.
Thanks to the folks at PSU, we’re learning that SXSW 2025 will feature a panel highlighting the cast of the upcoming season of The Last of Us. Included in the mix are the leading protagonists so far from the show, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, otherwise known as Joel and Ellie.
We’ll get a new peek at the upcoming season, and we’re certainly interested in seeing where the season takes fans. If you recall, it was previously revealed that the new season will be deviations from the video game. However, we don’t know just what changes or expansions might be coming.
Likewise, there’s no way this next season is going to showcase the entire storyline from The Last of Us Part II. That was one behemoth of a video game, and to tell its story, the show will need at least another season or two. Fortunately, it looks like we have a little more time to spend with this series, as even the HBO EVP spoke about the end game in a recent interview.
More specifically, the HBO EVP noted that there wasn’t much of an end game planned out at the moment. That said, they do feel like we should see the show likely come to an end by the fourth season. This should help tell the rest of the storyline from the video games unless Naughty Dog brings out a third installment that continues the narrative from where The Last of Us Part II leaves off.
