Re-signing the defenseman Filip Hronek has been revealed as the Canucks' top priority heading into this off season.
There's been lots of reports suggesting that the two parties had been making progress, but thus far, nothing conclusive. According to the information that's already been released, there is a humongous disparity in the money department.
Hronek and his camp are looking for a long term deal with an $8M+ annual average. The Canucks on their end, wouldn't mind the long-term deal, but they are not very keen with the idea of signing a defenseman to more money then their captain Quinn Hughes who currently commandeers a $7.85M annual salary.
Frank Seravalli was on Sekeres and Price to give an important update on Filip Hronek's future in Vancouver. According to him, the Canucks have finally put their foot down. He shut down the possibility of the Canucks taking Hronek and his camp to arbitration. He even added that they'll either re-sign or trade him in the next three weeks:

If the Canucks do decide to part ways with Hronek, they'll have to find a suitable replacement to play alongside Hughes and to quarterback the second power play unit. If Hronek ends up leaving, this will definitely be the Canucks number one priority this summer.
