Opening up.
Fans first met Bachelor Nation star Carly Waddell on Season 19 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 2 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Carly found love in “Paradise” with fellow Bachelor Nation star Evan Bass, and the two welcomed two children together during their marriage.
In December 2020, the couple announced their decision to split, and they’ve been co-parenting their kids Bella and Charlie ever since.
Last year, Carly hard-launched her relationship with Todd Allen Tressler and the two got engaged during a family trip to Costa Rica.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star is opening up online and sharing advice with her followers about what she learned from her experience going through her divorce with Evan.
In a new video, she said, “Okay, I’m going to talk about something real for a second. So someone just asked me on my question and answer on my Story what advice I would have for somebody going through what I went through years ago, going through a divorce, being a single mom.”
Carly went on and shared one of the biggest takeaways she received while reflecting on that time in her life.
She said, “I think the thing that I would say, um, I just feel like I need to talk about this today, is don’t have expectations on yourself for how fast you need to get through it. Like, take it second by second. Take it minute by minute. Take it baby step by baby step. Because you are going to get through it, I promise.”
Carly then gave some encouragement and revealed how she has changed since getting divorced.
“You’re going to look at your life and you’re going to be so amazed,” she expressed. “And you’re going to want to pat yourself on the back and tell yourself you’re a hero. And I mean seriously, it’s going to be okay. And you’re going to get through it and you’re going to be stronger from it. And if you have kids, your kids are going to look at you and think you are a superhero. Because you are. And I just wanted to say you’re doing great, and I love you.”
Carly sent love to others going through a similar journey in her caption by writing, “Sending all you ladies going through it a little love today 💕”
We appreciate Carly’s honesty and encouragement, and we know that her sharing her experience will help so many others. We’re sending our love to anyone going through a similar journey.
