Catelynn and Tyler recently addressed ‘Teen Mom: the Next Chapter’ fans who have expressed that Cate and Ty don’t seem to pay enough attention to the three kids they’re parenting and instead focus on the situation with their bio daughter Carly, whom they have been cut off from by Carly’s parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis.
During an interview with YouTuber @RealityTVwithRei, the couple made it clear that they are very focused on their three younger daughters— Nova, Vaeda and Rya— despite the fact that MTV chooses not to air much footage from them that does not revolve around the Carly situation.
“We’re engaging with the kids all the time,” Catelynn said, adding that the kids do competitive cheer and other activities that are filmed but not aired. “It’s not my fault that we film a whole bunch of s**t and they just decide to put the Carly stuff in. Why [was it so prevalent] this season? Probably because a lot of stuff happened this year with our adoption so of course they’re going to put that in there.”
The couple stated that, should the show get another season (which, as The Ashley told you, is still not decided as of press time), they plan to stop filming about the Carly situation.
“Tyler and I have also said that if there’s another season and they bring up stuff about Carly [to be filmed], we’re just going to keep it very short, like, ‘Nope, we still haven’t talked.’ And that’s it. You don’t have to know too much about it. If it happens that we have a visit, and [the cameras] want to follow us going to the visit, sure. But as far as talking, ‘negatively’ or like our deep feelings on it, we’re just gonna keep it to ourselves.
“And that is to protect Carly, honestly,” she continued.

In a long letter to Brandon and Teresa (that Cate and Ty posted to their Instagram accounts this week), the couple promised to stop speaking about their personal adoption situation.
“We will always speak about adoption, we just won’t speak about our own adoption story moving forward,” they wrote.
Tyler wrote on his post that they also won’t be speaking about Carly anymore, either, following the airing of Thursday’s episode.

“As I’ve stated before, we won’t be mentioning our biological daughter or her parents anymore & that’s why we’re actually relieved that this episode is airing, so that way we can all just finally move forward,” he wrote
Despite this, Cate and Ty insist that they hope Carly will one day share her story herself.
“I look forward to the day that if that girl ever wants to get up on somewhere and share her story,” Catelynn said during the YouTube interview.
“Even if it means [her saying we’re] ‘the worst people on the planet, they suck, they ruined my life,'” Ty added. “Just let her truth be said loud and clear.”
