The cast of Chicago P.D. will be getting some changes ahead of the next season. Toya Turner, who joined the show as Kiana Cook in Season 12 as a new star, will not be returning for Season 13.
As a police procedural, Chicago P.D. is bound to have some deaths. However, the recent loss of Gloria Perez was a shocking blow for many fans.
"My time on Chicago P.D. has come to a close," Turner said. "This show challenged me, sharpened me, and revealed what I’m made of. I’ve evolved through this experience, both as an artist and in my craft, and I’m walking away with depth, clarity, and momentum for whatever comes next."

She added, "To the cast and crew: thank you for the warmth, the laughter, and the generosity you brought every day. It was an honor to share the screen and the set with such talent. To the ChiHards: thank you for welcoming me, rooting for me, and showing Kiana love. And to everyone who believes in me: your support means the world. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead."
"You brought so much to that show and elevated every frame. Can’t wait to see what’s next love," reads one comment on the post written by Daniel Kyri, who similarly left Chicago Fire ahead of its fourteenth season.
Turner Was a Replacement for Tracy Spiridakos
Turner came onto the show after the exit of Tracy Spiridakos, who portrayed Detective Hailey Upton for eight seasons. She left in the Season 11 finale, setting the stage for Turner to come in as Kiana. Similarly, there are plans in place to bring in someone new to fill the void that's left by Turner exiting. Casting for a new series regular is underway, and the character is an ATF Task Force officer described as a "loose cannon" with a military background.
Turner also had roles in both Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, but they were bit parts as different characters. Her other TV credits include Warrior Nun, New Amsterdam, The Mick, and Empire. Turner also appeared in the indie film Dead Women Walking and did voiceover work for Incredibles 2. It remains to be seen where she will turn up next after her time spent on Chicago P.D.
