After Patrick Mahomes showed respect to Bryce Young following their Sunday showdown, the Kansas City Chiefs made sure to do the same with the Carolina Panthers.
On X, the Chiefs shared a video of Mahomes and Young sharing a postgame handshake after their 30-27 victory. In the clip, the two-time NFL MVP also hugged the 23-year-old signal-caller and shared some words with him.
The Chiefs, for their part, captioned the video with a nod to the Panthers. While Carolina only had three wins entering the game, the team definitely showed that they are a lot better than what their record suggests.
"Thanks for hosting, Panthers," the Chiefs wrote, before adding, "Good game!"
Bryce Young and the Panthers certainly deserved that acknowledgment from Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champions.
The home squad was really close to sending the game to overtime after erasing an 11-point third-quarter deficit and tying the game at 27-all. Had it not been for Mahomes' 33-yard scramble that put the Chiefs in field-goal range with 38 seconds remaining, it's unknown how the game would have turned out.
The Panthers dropped to 3-8 on the season with the loss, while the Chiefs improved to 10-1. If Carolina keeps playing like they did in this Week 12 clash, though, they should be able to win a few more games.
