Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Chloie Costello on Season 29 of “The Bachelor” as she looked for love with Grant Ellis.
Since her time on the show, she has been keeping fans updated with her life as a model, fashion looks, and hanging out with fellow Bachelor Nation alumni.
Now, Chloie’s taken to social media to share more about her modeling career and how she got started.
In a new video, she said, “I started when I was in high school. I was about 15 and I don’t know what came over me, but I just randomly reached out to my local agency in Kansas City where I grew up. And randomly submitted some 15-year-old photos I’d taken with my friends. I did a class with them, ended up signing with them.”

Chloie then talked about how after she signed, she immediately had to choose what kind of a model she wanted to be.
“My agent at the time sat me down and was like, ‘There’s one of two ways we can proceed,’” she recalled. “At the time, I was probably like a size 8 or 10, so I was kind of in the middle. She was like, ‘You can either lose weight and try to get down to what would be considered straight size, which is 0 to a 4. Or we can market you as plus-size.’ She handled it with a lot of care.”
Looking back at that experience, Chloie expressed her surprise that it didn’t affect her as a teenager.
She admitted, “I look back in hindsight, it’s kind of wild that that didn’t affect me more as a 15-year-old, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t think I’m ever gonna be a size 0.’ I don’t think God designed my body to be a 0, 2, or a 4, so I said, ‘Let’s market me as a plus-size, I guess.’ There’s less jobs, but there’s less competition and I think this could be a really tangible road to success.”

The Bachelor Nation star also revealed that her career didn’t really take off until after she graduated from college and connected with a new agent who got her signed with all of her current agencies.
“I’m signed in New York, L.A., Miami, Chicago, and I just signed with an agency in London,” she shared. “This is by no means the way you have to do it. A ton of people just cold apply to larger agencies… [There’s] no one right way to do it. There’s a lot of different paths to achieve the same goal.”
We love hearing from Chloie and learning more about her experience in the modeling industry. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for her!
