Although 9-1-1: Lone Star recently concluded, its flagship show, 9-1-1, is still going strong after switching to ABC in 2024. It is currently in its eighth season with "Invisible" set to air on Thursday, April 3 at 8 p.m. ET. In February 2025, Deadline reported that the franchise's latest spinoff would be set in Nashville, receiving a straight-to-series order from the network.

When speaking with ScreenRant, Oliver Stark, who plays Buck, was asked if he was interested in potential crossovers with 9-1-1: NashvilleThe actor responds with enthusiasm, proposing that Chris O'Donnell's character could be Buck's cousin, giving the firefighter a reason to visit. An appearance in ABC's Doctor Odyssey was originally pitched to Stark, but only Angela Bassett ended up boarding the cruise. Therefore, the star would love to explore the 9-1-1 universe in additional ways. Check out his full quote below:

Oliver Stark: Yeah, let's go! I feel like Buck would have a lot of fun in Nashville. I saw they cast Chris O'Donnell, could be Buck's cousin. I'm putting that out there. I could pay a visit to him in Nashville and find myself stumbling down Broadway. Yeah, I would love that. Dr. Odyssey didn't quite work out, so ship me off to Nashville, and I'll be there.

It Will Serve As The Third Series In The Franchise

9-1-1: Nashville is written and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani. Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett will also be on board as executive producers. 9-1-1: Nashville is the third series in the franchise, but a fourth show exists within the universe. Murphy's medical drama, Doctor Odyssey, crossed over when Bassett's Athena Grant boarded the ship in the March 20 episode, titled, "Casino Week."
