Ciara Reveals the Text Boston Rob Sent Her After The Traitors: "Such a Girl Dad"

That dramatic wedding mission was infested with creepy crawlies, but Ciara Miller never suspected her partner Boston Rob Mariano (SurvivorDeal or No Deal Island) was a Traitor.

"He always talked about his wife, and I was like, 'Oh my god, this man is so nice, so caring,' but like, that's not the first time I’ve been tricked by a man,” Ciara told The Daily Dish. "You get wrapped up — like, you want to see the best in people."

Fresh off the heels of her own Banishment from The Traitors Round Table in Episode 8, Ciara recently revealed all about her time on The Traitors, including that the mission gave her a glimpse into Rob being “such a girl dad.” He shares four daughters with his wife Amber, who he met on Survivor.

Ciara shares the kind message Boston Rob sent her

The mission's theme in Episode 7 — 'til death (or Banishment) do us part — saw the players dressed up in their best black and red outfits. Rob and Ciara, paired together and challenged to hold hands inside a clear box as roaches, tailless whip scorpions, and giant millipedes crawled over their fingers, were successful — though Rob was decidedly more chill about the terrifying ordeal.

“Nothing’s gonna hurt you,” Rob assured her after instructing Ciara to close her eyes if she didn't want to see what creatures made it into the box or were later raining down on them.

Ciara held on even when a snake was placed on their shoulders thanks to Rob talking her through the challenge with his calming demeanor, asking random questions and making conversation to try and take her mind off the critters.

When the Round Table later turned on Rob, accusing him (rightfully) of being a Traitor, Ciara was quick to defend him since she bought his act of pretending to be a Faithful. Even though they were safe from Murder, Rob was Banished from the castle and revealed he was a Traitor all along.

“Am I personally offended still? Yes. Yes, I am. I don’t love the duplicity and how the game is played,” Ciara said with the gift of hindsight.

But after the games, she got a “nice” text from Rob, which she shared with The Daily Dish.

“He was just like, ‘I know we haven’t talked a lot, but I wanted to say thank you for being so great to me out there. It really meant so much to me. I know that I deceived you. I was just playing the game, it didn’t mean anything personally. I hope you can forgive me and I can’t wait to see you at the reunion,’ so that was really nice,” Ciara said, adding with a laugh: “I hearted it because I didn’t know what to say and I’ll see him at the reunion.”

Ciara on The Traitors Season 3 "Coffin Theory"

Ciara’s nail in the coffin on the show, ironically, was being selected earlier in the season as one of three players to be placed by the Traitors in a coffin, marking her as potentially being up for Murder.

“I was screwed from the minute I got into the coffin,” Ciara said. “People were really thinking that, 'Well, if there was a Traitor in the coffin last year, then there had to be one in the coffin this year,' and in my head, I’m like, 'Just thinking production-wise, why would they do the same scenario twice?'"

Of course, Ciara was right — none of the three players chosen for the coffins were Traitors. That night, the Traitors Murdered Jeremy Collins, and Nikki Garcia was later Banished at the Round Table. The incorrect theory that a Traitor had to be in one of the coffins followed Ciara to her last Round Table in Episode 8, where she was Banished.

Others thought she was a Traitor because she was the only one who didn’t bargain, Ciara theorized.

“I said what I said,” Ciara said about her strong remarks while in the coffin. “I wanted to hunt the Traitors down and I really felt that way… I’d rather stay true to myself and be dead than lie and still be alive.”

Still, looking back, Ciara wouldn’t change her gameplay.

“They’re like…'You curse a lot,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, f--- yeah I do,’" Ciara said. “Am I working on it? No. Could I? Probably…There’s a study that came out that said people who curse a lot are most likely to be more honest and that is I. ‘Cause I was Faithful.”
