At this point in the season, the Indianapolis Colts need a lot of help to sneak into the playoffs.
As they prepare to face the New York Giants in a critical matchup, the team made a roster move to add some depth to the practice squad’s secondary.
According to the team’s official site, free agent safety Michael Tutsie was signed to the practice squad Thursday.
If the Colts’ goal was to add some more championship DNA to the organization, they accomplished that mission.
Tutsie, a former FCS All-American, won four national titles while playing at North Dakota State.
He also has a history with the Colts, signing with them in the summer of 2023 after going undrafted.
After being signed, put on injured reserve, released, and jumping through a whole bunch of other hoops over the last few seasons, Tutsie is back in Indy and looking to provide depth for the Colts in the last part of the season here.
Time will tell if his number is called or not.
If the Colts were to somehow claw their way into the playoffs, it would be stunning, considering they are two games out with two weeks to play.
Head coach Shane Steichen is looking to flip the script from last season when the Colts failed to make the playoffs at the end of the year.
It is win or go home for Steichen and Co. on the road in New Jersey this weekend.
