The NFL draft is one of the biggest spectacles of the entire league year. There was much less anticipation around the draft this year because of what was perceived as a weak draft class.
However, the ratings report revealed that this was the second-most viewed NFL draft of all-time, narrowly losing to the 2020 draft.
This could be for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest is likely the Starpower that outweighs the shortcomings of the other players in the class.
A draft pool like this year where there are no real clear favorites, the process can become a bit of a crapshoot.
This is evidenced by a top five talent in this year’s draft falling outside the top 10.
Penn State star Tyler Warren was widely considered the best tight end in the draft for months and many even considered him a top three prospect in general.
Shockingly, he wasn’t even the first tight end off the board, but it is hard to justify taking a tight end with such a high pick so it makes sense why he did not go in the top five like he should have.
The NFL recently revealed the numbers from their rookie jersey sales and to nobody’s surprise, Warren made the list.
He went to the Indianapolis Colts with the No. 14 pick, a team that has been desperate for a franchise tight end since Dallas Clark left.
Warren has sold the ninth-most jerseys out of all rookies this year and it could not be clearer that Colts fans are in love already.
