Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been put through the wringer over the last six months.

Colts Safety Sends Clear Anthony Richardson Message Amid QB Controversy

He entered the 2024 season with sky high expectations following an impressive rookie year, although it was cut short due to a season ending shoulder injury.

The third-year player has flashed the potential to be one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks to ever play the game.

But his concerning accuracy issues and injury issues have halted his development exponentially.

Richardson has received criticism from his head coach, general manager, owner, fanbase, and millions of fans outside of Indianapolis as well.

It must be overwhelming for a 22-year-old to be put under such intense pressure so early on in his career.

But luckily, he has tons of people in his corner that have been giving him uplifting messages as well.

The most recent example of this is Richardson’s teammate, safety Nick Cross, who spoke of his quarterback on “Good Morning Football” this week.

Cross knows all the scrutiny the former Florida signal caller has been through and addressed it while dispelling the critiques he’s faced.

The former third-round pick called Richardson a, “Phenomenal talent, one of the best I’ve seen.”

This is eye opening praise for a player that’s endured so much criticism and struggled so mightily early on in his career.

However, Cross is right because the consensus on Richardson is that if he’s ever able to tap into his generational talents, he could be one of the best to ever play the sport.

Unfortunately, he just hasn’t had much luck up to this point showcasing his abilities consistently.

The third-year quarterback has made a number of jaw dropping plays in his short career that only a handful of players in NFL history could make.

So, the once in a lifetime talent is there, Richardson just needs to harness it to salvage his career in Indianapolis.

The Colts brought in Daniel Jones this offseason to compete for the starting job to push Richardson to the next level.

If the training camp battle has its intended effects the Colts fans could be watching one of the most special players in football history for the next decade plus.
