The Blackhawks center didn't post a point or even a shot in Canada's 4-1 win over Norway on Thursday. He didn't have to as Canadians dominated.
After scoring in each of Canada's three opening wins at the IIHF World Championship, Blackhawks center Connor Bedard didn't make a mark on the scoresheet in a 4-1 in over Norway on Thursday in Prague.
The 18-year-old Bedard didn't post a point, or even a shot on goal, after recording five goals and assist in his first three games at the tournament.
The Norwegians barely did better as a team, however, as Canada improved to 3-1-0-0 and into a first place tie with Switzerland in Group A. Norway was held without a shot on Canadian goalie Nicolas Daws until about 2 minutes into the third period and was outshot 33-6 for the contest.
Brandon Tanev, Andrew Mangiapane, Dylan Cozens and Jared McCann scored for Canada.
Bedard was on the ice for Norway's lone goal and was a minus-1 in 14:30 of ice time. He was whistled for roughing at 6:04 of the third, but Cozens scored short-handed 33 seconds later to make it 3-1.
In the only other game involving Blackhawks players, the United States cruised past France 5-0. Defenseman Seth Jones had an assist and six shots on goal in 19:57 of ice time as he was paired again with Columbus D-man Zach Werenski.
The Blackhawks top blueliner was a plus-2
Alex Vlasic was plus-1 with one shot in 17:30 of ice time.
Matt Boldy had two goals and an assist for the Americans, who outshot the French 54-10. Brock Nelson, Johnny Gaudreau and Shane Pinto also scored.
