Corey Perry Passes Blackhawks Legend Patrick Kane in All-Time Playoff Scoring

40-year-old Corey Perry is still doing his thing and being an impact player for the Edmonton Oilers in the playoffs and his career isn't over after this season. His signing with the Chicago Blackhawks didn't work out, but it definitely has in Edmonton.

As a former Blackhawks player, the parting of ways needed to be done, but now the long time veteran has passed a legend in Chicago, Patrick Kane, in all-time playoff points. Perry has been a part of teams that have gone to five of the last six Stanley Cup Finals while Kane chose the Detroit Red Wings who haven't made the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Perry is now tied for 42nd in all-time playoff points with 139 after another point in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Kane sits 44th with 138 playoff points.

There is quite a difference though. Perry has had to change his role over the years and has done so with great success and does whatever is needed from him. Kane is still more of a star player and will likely remain that way. Perry has one Stanley Cup despite all of his appearances. Meanwhile, Kane hoisted the Cup three times in the 2010s.

Perry might have just passed Kane in playoff points, but he has also played 90 more games. Perry's linemate, Leon Draisaitl, has one fewer point than Kane in the playoffs all-time and has played 51 fewer games. Everyone wants to see Kane back in the playoffs, but I'm not so sure that will be with the Red Wings. It also won't be with Chicago either.
