The calendar this weekend in Wichita is particularly jam-packed with fun events, including a show by the cast of “Dancing with the Stars” and opening day for Wichita’s popular outdoor bar, The Brickyard.

‘DWTS Live’
7:30 p.m. Friday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman
Fans of the television show “Dancing with the Stars” will be able to catch a live performance by the professional dancers who make up the cast. The show’s tour will stop at Intrust Bank Arena on Friday for a performance that will start at 7:30 p.m. Among the featured dancers will be Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Daniella Karagach, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov and Rylee Arnold. The show’s co-host will be Stephen Nedoroscik, the Olympic gymnast who placed fourth on the most recent season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Chandler Kinney, the actress who placed third, will also appear on stage in Wichita. Opening weekend for Brickyard
Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Brickyard, 125 N. Mead
It’s opening weekend for Brickyard, Wichita’s roofless bar where people gather from spring till fall to listen to live music and enjoy adult beverages under the stars. The venue, which is celebrating its 26th year, will feature a concert by Monterey Jack at 8 p.m. on Saturday. It also will be offering St. Patrick’s Day food and drink specials all day, including corned beef hash and $5 Guinness pints. Candice & The Business Casual will perform at 5 p.m. Admission is free until 8 p.m., and then there will be a $15 cover.
Flea Market weekend
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Equity Bank Park, 275 S. McLean
It’s Wichita Flea Market weekend again, and this month, the big shopping event will have a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The market will be open for one day only — from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Equity Bank Park. Admission will be $3, free for children 12 and under. Minnie Mouse will visit from 11 a.m. to noon, and Princess Elsa from “Frozen” will be there from noon to 1 p.m. The market also will put on a shamrock scavenger hunt with prizes. It will feature more than 225 booths with vendors selling things like crafts, jewelry and antiques.
Author visit
2 p.m. Sunday, Watermark Books & Cafe, 4701 E. Douglas
Karen Russell, the author of the new book “The Antidote,” will be at Watermark Books & Cafe on Sunday for an author event and book signing. “The Antidote” follows five characters whose lives become intertwined after a Dust Bowl storm hits their small Nebraska town. Russell has written five books, including New York Times best sellers “Swamplandia!” and “Vampires in the Lemon Grove.” She’s a Pulitzer Prize finalist and has received several other writing awards. Tattoo Expo

The 2025 RiverCity Tattoo & Lifestyle Expo, which drew 4,000 people last year, will return to Century II Friday through Sunday and will feature live tattooing as well as tattoo-friendly vendor booths. Attendees also can get piercings and hair styling on the spot, and famous tattoo artist Oliver Peck, who was a judge from the television show “Ink Master,” will also be there. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Single-day tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for ages 13-17. Three-day passes are $40 for adults, $20 for ages 13-17. Symphony weekend

The Wichita Symphony Orchestra will appear this weekend with guest artist Alban Gerhardt on the cello for a performance of “Dvorak’s Cello Concerto.” The concert also will include “To Spring — An Overture” by Daniel Perttu as well as Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 5, Reformation.” The concert is at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Century II Concert Hall. Keith Sweat in concert
7 p.m. Saturday, Century II Convention Hall, 225 W. Douglas
Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter Keith Sweat will be at Wichita’s Century II Convention Hall at 7 p.m. on Saturday as part of the “Make It Last Forever” tour. The concert is being billed as an R&B Fest and will also include performances by Sunshine Anderson, LeVelle and comedian Joe Torry, who will host the show.
