Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) might officially be out of Salem, but this doesn’t mean she’s done with the little town for good.
The character headed back to New York to live with her mom, Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo), but this likely won’t be the last fans will see of her.
Joy Wesley’s Baby Secret
Most Days of Our Lives fans know that Joy found out she was expecting Alex Kiriakis’s (Robert Scott Wilson) baby before she left town. In fact, being pregnant is the reason she went to NYC.
While Joy cared for Alex, he had moved on with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), and Joy was sick of the drama and possible chaos that co-parenting would bring. She told Alex the pregnancy test she took came out negative, and she ditched town.
Alex has no clue he has a baby set to arrive in about eight months or so. As such, he bid Joy adieu without giving her – or their relationship – a second thought.
Still, as viewers know all too well, secrets never stay hidden for that long in Salem, so what would bring Joy back to town?
A Baby Medical Emergency
While timelines in soaps don’t often match up with real-world time, Joy is expected to have her baby, sometime this winter – potentially earlier or later, depending on how it would suit storylines.
Joy was adamant about keeping Alex in the dark about his baby; however, could something happen to change her point of view?
What if the baby suffered a medical emergency? The child may need a blood transfusion or bone marrow that only Alex or a family member of his could provide.
If she exhausts all other possibilities, she may be desperate enough to head back to Salem, tell Alex the truth, and ask for his help – especially if the child’s life is on the line.
