Despite coaching changes, Chase Young's desire to return to New Orleans never wavered

Saints' Chase Young Makes Feelings On New Orleans Clear

After one year in New Orleans, Chase Young decided this is where he wants to be. Surely, being paid handsomely helped make it an easier decision, but Young wanted to remain with the New Orleans Saints all offseason. The departure of Dennis Allen resulted in two major changes. Kellen Moore took over as head coach, and Brandon Staley will lead the defense. The change in coaching staff didn't sway Young's decision.

When asked if the move to Staley had any impact on his thought process, Young emphasized it was mostly about everything around the team that made a return appealing. Young told reporters Thursday, "I enjoyed my time for the one year I was on, enjoyed my teammates, enjoyed New Orleans, enjoyed the fan base." Possibly the most important aspect is that his family enjoyed being in New Orleans.

Young has moved around quite a bit. He spent 2023 with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. Then he joined the Saints last season. That's three teams in two seasons. Signing a three-year contract gives Young a level of stability he hasn't had since the beginning of his career.
