Did Craig Conover Really Buy Paige DeSorbo an Engagement Ring?

Paige DeSorbo is finally sharing her side of the breakup with Craig Conover. On the Summer House Season 9 finale, Paige debriefed with her co-stars, the way Craig did on the finale of Southern Charm. However, their sides to the story were markedly different. Especially when it came to Craig allegedly buying Paige an engagement ring. On Southern Charm, Craig claimed that Paige asked him to buy her one before they split. But on Summer House, Paige seemed baffled by him bringing this up. And she doubted if the engagement ring really exists. So, what is the truth? We’ve rounded up both sides of this he said/she said.

Paige DeSorbo couldn’t tell if Craig Conover was lying about the engagement ring

On the Summer House Season 9 finale, Paige recounted her breakup and how Craig responded to it. Paige recalled the moment she realized she needed to call it quits. When they spent Thanksgiving together, Craig asked if she fantasized about them hosting the holiday with their kids someday. In the moment, she said yes. However, she quickly realized that wasn’t true.

Paige told Craig, “I don’t think I do, and that’s not fair to you. You deserve to have the love of your life, and I feel like I do too, and I can’t pretend that we don’t have these issues.” She continued, “And so I was just like, ‘I don’t think I’m feeling the things I’m supposed to be feeling if we’re thinking about getting engaged in the next year.’”

Craig’s response caught her off guard. “He says to me, ‘I really wish you didn’t do this before you saw the ring,’” she revealed. Paige added, “Right when he says that to me, in my head, I was like, ‘This is why we’re breaking up, because I don’t know if you’re lying right now.’”

Craig insisted he had the ring for a year. But when the girls said they’d like to see it, Paige said, “It doesn’t exist. We’ll never see it.”

Kyle Cooke and Lindsay Hubbard don’t believe the engagement ring exists

Lindsay Hubbard and Kyle Cooke appeared on Watch What Happens Live after the Summer House Season 9 finale. Naturally, they were asked for their thoughts on Craig and Paige’s breakup. Both Lindsay and Kyle expressed doubts the supposed engagement ring really exists.

A fan asked if they believed Craig really had the ring for a year. “You had me at ‘Do you believe Craig is really telling the truth,'” Kyle joked. He’s already called Craig a pathological liar, which Paige now agrees with. “You can’t go a year without showing the ring to anybody,” Kyle added, “I know all his friends. Nobody’s seen the ring.” Lindsay agreed that Craig would’ve at least shown someone a picture if the ring did exist. After all, that’s what her ex fiancé Carl Radke did.

Kyle added that Paige, as Summer House’s fashionista, has “very specific style.” He added, “So, you’re getting input … you ask her friends, you ask her mom, like, you don’t go on a whim.” Lindsay, quoting Heather Gay, said that if a ring really does exist, “We want the receipts, the proof, the timeline!”

What Craig Conover said about the engagement ring on Southern Charm

Craig first claimed that he bought an engagement ring for Paige at Patricia Altschul’s guy’s dinner. In that moment, Craig was getting interrogated over his future with Paige. It’s possible Craig was telling the truth. Though at the time, it almost seemed like he mentioned the ring as an out to shut down all the questions.

He brought up the ring again in the Southern Charm Season 10 finale. Craig implied he was blindsided by the breakup because, over the summer, Paige allegedly asked him to design a ring. He claimed he did, working with a jeweler in New York. Only for Paige to then express hesitation about them getting engaged. In hindsight, he admitted, that should’ve been a sign.

Overall, Craig made a lot of claims about his breakup with Paige that she later denied. Most notably, he claimed she proposed getting married at BravoCon. Paige shut this down on WWHL. She asked Andy Cohen, “Do I look like someone who has ‘convention center’ on their wedding invitation?”

What did Craig Conover do with the alleged ring he bought for Paige DeSorbo?

Craig gave an update on the ring during his most recent WWHL appearance in late March. Craig told Andy that he returned the ring to the jeweler that same morning before his appearance. Shep Rose was shocked by this. Austen Kroll asked why Craig didn’t tell them he was going to do that. Craig said, “I don’t need custody of it anymore so I took it back to the guy.”

When Andy mentioned this to Kyle and Lindsay, they laughed it off. Lindsay joked, “Well, how convenient Andy!” She continued, “That day? He returned the ring that day?!” Kyle also brought up that, on another recent WWHL appearance, Craig said he’s never lied on camera. Despite a montage of his lies playing out.
